Bush is "Inconsequential"

Interesting article in the Asia Times about US-Iranian Relations (props to Scholars & Rogues). I do find it humorous that Bush has basically become Carter. The US does seem to be going out of its way to find a reason to attack Iran. Of course, I've been saying that for almost a year now. This is definitely going to be an interesting year (isn't that a Chinese curse?): we've got the presidential elections and both parties need a nominee, we've got Iraq & Afghanistan, we've got the weirdness with Iran, we've got that practically guaranteed peace between Palestine and Israel, and we have a lame duck president who doesn't want to be a lame duck (hence most of the previously listed issues). Let's hope we all survive this year!

I'm afraid I have to disagree here. At his worst, Carter was never as much of a clusterfuck as Bush has been.

As for peace, I'm hopeful, but not as confident as you are.

My hope is that the world doesn't go BOOM! before the lame duck leaves office.

Pointed a link to you, thanks for the plug for the progressive dinner.

In the spirit of Blog Carnival benefit, do you want to do a link exchange?

I'm not nearly as confident as you think. My talk about "practically guaranteed peace" was a jab at Bush. I don't think we'll get peace there for a long time.

A link exchange sounds good, if it's not too late. (I've been ill.) I'm looking forward to the Progressive Dinner Blog this week.
